2017 Abuget Cup Jakarta, Andreij's Road to Victory (Part 2)

PBE Doujin's journey to the top is so difficult and in fact, there was even a time that he was almost eliminated and did not make the cut of Top 16. But, he fought a very tough battle and inch by inch, little by little he moved gradually to the upper bracket.

Andreij's difficult road to victory

He was first beaten by Korea's Echofox Saint in the Top 8 and was sent to the losers bracket to battle Japan's Tanukana and won. But, fate made it hard for him that he has to face his teammate, PBE AK, going to the TOP 4. It was just like a serious casual game for both of them and no hard feelings whoever wins because for sure one of them will enter the Top 4. He won after a very good fight from a very worthy adversary, PBE AK.

The battle of the Top 4 started with him and UDG Book of Thailand to face loser in the winner's bracket between Korea's Echofox Saint and Knee. He defeated UDG Book and moved to face once again Echofox Saint' who lost to Knee in a very close battle, for the right to face Knee in the Championships. He did his best to introduce a new character, GIGAS, against Saint's, Jack 7. He won the first battle but loses in the second round. It was this time that he popped up again Shaheen to fight Saint's Jack 7 and Bob sending Saint to 3rd Place.

Now, going against Legendary Knee was a dream come true for him as he also admired him as one of Korea's Best. He sees the opportunity to try his main character Lars against Knee's Bryan. He has not actually been using Lars for quite some time (nor even practicing it seriously) and even in major tournaments but the urge to use it against Knee's Bryan was very strong. So he sticks to it to gauge the strength of Lars and evaluate its future in other competitions. He could have used his other strong characters against Knee's Bryan but it was his professional attitude, that if someone like Knee uses his Main, he is obliged to use his Main too. And the rest is history.

Congratulations PBE Doujin and Get Ready for the Next Battle.

2017 Abuget Cup Jakarta, Andreij's Road to Victory

PBE Andreij "Doujin" Albar
2nd Place, Abuget Cup Jakarta, Indonesia
July 29 and 30, 2017

Congratulations to our young and most love Pilipino Tekken 7 Player Andreij "Doujin" Albar from PlayBook eSports Elite Team.  An 18 years old college student of San Beda College Alabang.

Barely 2 months from the release of Tekken 7 Fated Retribution here in the Philippines, Andreij made again a remarkable winning streak at the Abuget Cup 2017 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In the top 16, Echofox Saint defeated PBE Doujin and sent him to the losers bracket where he slowly moved his way to the Top 8 downing Singapore's Imurmother with Jack 7 & Shaheen.

In the Top 8 of the losers bracket, he eliminated Japan's Cyclops Tanukana using Claudio & Shaheen.

From the winners' bracket, PBE Doujin sent his teammate PBE AK to 5th Place and moved himself up to the Top 4.

In the Top 4, he subdued Thailand's UDG Book with Leo and Jack 7 and move forward challenging Echofox Saint to the semifinals.

PBE Doujin was the lone Filipino player left in the tournament following that tough match against an even tougher opponent, Echofox Saint, who recently placed second in the EVO 2017 Tournament in Las Vegas USA which is the biggest fighting game tournament in the world. PBE Doujin started with a new character "Gigas" to the surprise of Echofox Saint, followed by Shaheen, and managed to replicate his Rage Art victory and sent Echofox Saint to third place.

From the winner's side of the tournament, Knee had been waiting for his opponent in the grand finals. Stepping up to the challenge, PBE Doujin pulled out his main character Lars against Knee who had released his Bryan pick. PBE Doujin didn't make any points with Knee and brings Knee to be the Champion and made him stand on the 2nd Place.
